April 01, 2002 :: "April Fools!"

Dang you guys are easy to prank! Can’t get rid of me that easily (sorry Jason). Perhaps my more gullible readers should seek guidance in my new line of self-help books:

The 7 Search Habits of Highly Effective Bloggers and Who Cut the Cheese?

He said. She said. There’s 17 Comments

For those of you just tuning in, earlier in the day I had my site redirecting to this. Got a lot of worried emails.

;^p

That was good.

My god, I was ready to take hostages. My little heart was POUNDING at the thought of no more Davezilla.
jason :: 01 April, 2002 07:40 PM

i freaked out for about 2 minutes and then i was like no...it has to be fake. i was still worried for a while that it was real, but then i forgot about it and now i am glad to see i was right and it wasnt real. run-on sentences are fun.
hallie :: 01 April, 2002 08:11 PM

now, if you had redirected to say, oh i don't know, a "this url is for sale" page, that would have been funny.
tallboy :: 01 April, 2002 09:13 PM

I love April Fool's day...

I'd say that yours was one of the more original jokes, though really nobody else could really have done it...
Greg :: 01 April, 2002 10:15 PM

I was concerned that there would be no April Fools joke when I checked this morning, but I should have known better. Great prank!
Debra :: 01 April, 2002 10:22 PM

Hey, a fart joke! Good to see davezilla keeping in touch with the common folk. ;)
Neil :: 02 April, 2002 12:18 AM

glad you didnt really give it up.
there were many lamentations on my poetry site! p.S. i forgot it was suffer-a-fool day
me :: 02 April, 2002 01:01 AM

I didn't fall for it! Right away, that is. I got scared for about two seconds, then I remembered that Davezilla + April Fool's Day means it can't be true.
Becky :: 02 April, 2002 01:38 AM

i always fall for the jokes. i'm a gullible idiot. but i was too busy believing people were in europe, so i missed this.

i think i would have got the joke here though, really. pretty sure.

oh ok dammit i would have fallen for this too.
kd :: 02 April, 2002 03:15 AM

Yeah, I would buy those.

Actually, I'm trying to figure out the anagrams. ;)
Natalie :: 02 April, 2002 08:49 AM

As they are names, they aren’t obvious unless you own the books.
Steve Phonecry = Stephen R. Covey
Cranky Fin Love = Franklin Covey
;^)
Davezilla :: 02 April, 2002 09:04 AM

[And no, I don’t own these books]
Davezilla :: 02 April, 2002 09:05 AM

You fooled me, but that is consistent with my general foolish behavior. Thank goodness you updated the April Fool's note later in the day! :)
Jon :: 02 April, 2002 11:41 AM

For a full month, I brought my usual diet Coke and a can of Kraft Parmesan Cheese to managerial staff meetings. People kept trying to move my cheese, but nobody ever moved my diet Coke.

I think there needs to be a book called "I dare you to move my diet Coke."
file13 :: 02 April, 2002 02:08 PM

Well, I didn't fall for it but even if I had I wouldn't be worried cuz I work 8 feet away from you and would get my daily dose of anagramania.
