December 19, 2001 :: "Bibleman"

For those who were offended by the last post or wanted something sillier, perhaps you will enjoy Bibleman, a site run by none other than Willie Aames. That’s right, Star of Eight is Enough, Charles in Charge, Zapped, Dungeons and Dragons and probably a dozen other forgettable sitcoms.

Willie has lost his mind. Let’s just get that out on the table right now. He is portraying a Christian superhero named Bibleman. Donning an outfit similar to Michael Keaton’s Batman but looking more like Spawn, Bibleman would make most children think God is a big, scary man who’s ready to bring on the pain in a no-hold-barred Smackdown on Pay-Per-View.

Warning: Site contains trashy Flash, pointless pop-up windows, and Willie Aames.

He said. She said. There’s 11 Comments

Thanks Dave! I've been staying up many a lonely night wondering what happened to Willie. Now I can rest easy knowing he is completely inane.

Oh shoot!!!! That was supposed to be INSANE but I guess it works either way huh?

The Fundies try so hard to be cool. It's commendable that they haven't given up completely and gone back to what they do best - scaring the living crap out of people. Keep trying, Fundies! You may find that magic elixir that brings people back to church... free booze?

Bibleman's announcement in the wake of the 9/11 tragedies:

"While we have always taken [terrorist] threats seriously, I feel that now more than ever we should err on the side of caution. Therefore, I am sad to announce that I will not be able to appear on the "Family Christian Bookstore Autograph Tour" scheduled to start in November. I am strongly urging that all of our fans, children, moms and dads help us by not giving in or giving up because of heightened security measures."
Translation: I am not willing to take a risk, but by all means, you should. And bring the kids.

I realize it is quite out of character for me to be so bold, but I am openly asking that each of you moms, dads and kids help to keep the "Bibleman" ministry alive by continuing to pre-purchase the latest release, "Lead us not into Temptation," even though I am not able to personally sign the video during those appearances.
Translation: Please continue to give us money. Thanks.

If Bibleman can't appear, then the terrorists have already won.

Thank God.

I saw the E! True Hollywood Story on Eight is Enough. It was soooo hilarious. Adam Rich (the guy that played the little kid) grew up to be a total punk kid who got hooked on every prescription drug known to man, and got arrested like once a week (he was actually bailed out once by Dick van Patton...in real life). Another girl in the cast completely lost her marbles and drank herself even crazier. The rest of the cast also suffered a variety of other scattered dysfunctional anomalies. And yes, let us not forget about Bibleman. Makes you wonder what kind of horrors they had to endure on the set of Eight is Enough.

Biblegirl is a hottie. If she could do the ping-pong ball trick I could be a believer.

I used to work at a video production company in Kansas City that actually did the Bibleman videos. I'm eternally grateful that I never had to work on any of them. I don't have a problem with religion per se, but that stuff is downright scary.

I had no idea these things had been going on for a while. I was kind of hoping it was something new that would be marginalized and quietly go away.
